COFFEE SMOOTHIE

The Amorino coffee smoothie has become a classic in the category. Eat it in our shops or prepare it at home based on the following recipe.

Difficulty: easy

Serves: 2

Preparation time: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

4 espressos (½ to ⅔ cups) prepared (in the espresso maker) with a strong and fruity Arabica with a dash of acidity

1¾ cups coffee sorbet (p. 62) or an Amorino coffee gelato

1. Prepare the espressos, let them cool a moment.

2. In a mixer, add the coffee gelato (separated in a few pieces if it’s still hard) and the cooled coffees. Blend until you have a nice texture, a bit thick. Don’t blend too much; otherwise, the gelato will totally melt.

Good . . . and gorgeous, too!

You might want to garnish the smoothies with some liqueur-dipped coffee beans, a little vanilla whipped cream (p. 206), a few dark chocolate shavings (more than 70 percent cacao), a trace of cinnamon . . .
